Let's connect:
Welcome back to the Business with Beers podcast. I'm so excited to be relaunching this podcast, and I've decided to do it for one person. I'm doing it for myself 10 years ago when I it was May of 2016 when I first bought my two shops in the Philadelphia suburbs. And prior to that, I had been an employee for about six years. You know, I knew the business, I knew how to hire people, I knew how to like deal with all the stuff, but I was an owner for the very first time. And everything changes when you are personally guaranteeing the debt and the lease and everything on the line. Like I had put not I don't know if it's all of my life savings, but it was a significant portion of my life savings up to that point into this business. And I had no other choice but to make it work. And I remember every single morning I'd be waking up at 5:30, I'd be out the door by 6, 6.30, whatever it was. And in the drive to work, I'd want to listen to a podcast that spoke directly to me. I wanted to hear from successful entrepreneurs about the stories and the frameworks and the things that they were going through. And my goal was to be able to pick out a couple gold nuggets that I could apply potentially that day at work as I thought about sales or customer service or taxes or you know, things that I could do that would make my business just a little bit better. Because to win in business, it's not about moving mountains. It's about these small incremental improvements, 1% every day in some little category. And then over time, those little increments build into a massive improvement, right? The power of compounding is one of the greatest powers of the world that once you experience it and once you feel it, then like it changes your entire life. And I think that's something that my former younger self would have loved to hear a whole lot more often. And looking back, there's things that, you know, as today I've built a company that does$50 million in revenue. Our goal is to do 60 million this year, right? It's it's it's absolutely amazing. I've the best team I could I could imagine, better than I had imagined, actually. Uh, and I have no involvement in like the day-to-day operations. You know, my entire role is really focused on the growth and the vision, kind of this next stage. And I'll talk about that a little bit later. But I think about all the things that I wish I knew back then that I know now. I think about what today's self in 2026 would tell 2016 Brian. What he would tell them certain things that he's gonna say, man, you're an idiot. Why are you doing X, Y, Z things? You should be focused on this, this, and this. Those are really good choices that you made that set us up for where I'm at today. And there's gonna be other things you're like, man, don't do that. Stop worrying about. Why'd you spend all the time on this? You should have been doing this, right? There's all these things. If you look back on 10 years ago, you would tell your former self what to do. All right. And I want to help be that conduit for other entrepreneurs who are in that building phase, who are grinding it out, waking up early, going in every day. They've got everything on the line and they're just trying to get a little bit better, right? There's there's the world is changing so much and it's changing so fast with AI and all this technology, and there's all these things and all these pressures and all this fear in the world. I mean, right now it's you know, it's May of 2026. We've got the war in Iran, we have gas prices knocking$5 a gallon, they're about to run out of engine oil, all this crazy stuff, all this crazy fear, and it's so easy to get wrapped up in all that instead of thinking, you know, what can I control? Right? I can't control any of that stuff, so there's no point in burning my energy. But what I can control is the experience in our stores and the in my business and how our team is gonna rally to get through whatever it is. And all those lessons are the things that I'm gonna be able to deliver to my former self. And if if you can resonate it with the great, uh that that'd be awesome. I want to think about my future self too. I want to think about from 10 years from today in 2036, what does my life look like then? What are the things that future Brian is gonna be telling current Brian to stop doing because he's an idiot and focused on the wrong things? And what are the what are the things he's gonna thank me for to say, man, I'm really glad you took that risk. You made that bet, you partnered on that deal, you said no to this thing because all of that has set us up for the life that we have. And so I that's what the goal of this is. It's not to be the most polished. There are gonna be some days that honestly my goal is just to record something on my phone that's gonna be super raw and super authentic, but I feel like I have to get it out, right? There's gotta be uns. I'm gonna be in my studio. If you got video now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, it streams videos, so like here we are. Uh, I'm also gonna be putting all these episodes on my more Brian Beers channel on YouTube. So I have two channels now. I have one that's like the entertainment fun stuff in the stores, and I've got this other one that's gonna be the more channel, very tactical. If you're gonna listen to this podcast, you probably like all that, all the stuff that I'm gonna have over there. And finally, my goal is daily, right? My my goal is five episodes a week, Monday through Friday. Uh, and uh it's a high bar, to be totally honest, but uh the way I'm gonna do it, I think I think I'm gonna be able to do it. I I got some ideas. I'm all about leverage, and I think that uh my former self would love to listen to this podcast every day. He'd be excited to put that on at 6 30 in the morning when he's when he's driving into work and he's having a tough day or a tough week and somebody just quit, and he wants to hear that the light is at the end of the tunnel and that it's all worth it because being an entrepreneur is hard. Not a lot of people do it, not a lot of people fail because of the struggle and being down. And often, you know, you suffer in silence because nobody around you knows what you're going through, right? It's hard to talk to your you know family or friends if if they don't own a business. Maybe all your friends have W-2 jobs, like they work in corporate America, and they have they think you're freaking crazy to begin with because you quit your job and started a business, and you don't have anybody that you can talk to about a cash flow getting tight or having a problem with a customer or uh an employee, your key guy is gonna quit, or he's he's slacking, and like all the stuff that that we weigh on and not knowing are you making the right decision, should you go and do this expansion, should you sell and get out and move on to something else, right? There's so much pressure, and and for entrepreneurs, there's just it's just it's hard to find a community. And so my goal in this is to give you hope, give my former self hope that like it can be worth it if you do the right things and you keep it simple, you focus, you bet on yourself, you don't listen to any of the noise, you and you just keep driving forward. And then the other part of that is what I'm doing in 8 Figure. So I have this program, it's called 8 Figure Franchisee, where my goal is is to literally install the playbooks that I've used to scale my business with across any other franchise or small business. So everything from identifying bottlenecks to building systems around hiring, cash flow, and expansion, and there's all this stuff, but but that's just half of it because the other half of it is that community, it to have people that you can share ideas with and challenges. And in a future episode, if you're subscribed here, you're gonna hear about an in-person event that I just did yesterday as of the date of this recording, where I brought in 12 entrepreneurs from around the country who flew in to spend a day and a half with me and each other, and all left with massive clarity, massive energy and action to know exactly what they're gonna do. And knowing that you've got a community that can support you and help you kind of live the life that you want to live. Because at the end of the day, that's what it's all about, right? Like we are in business because we need we want a business to support the lifestyle, not the other way around, right? We don't buy a business to we don't live our life around the business, right? We build the business around our life, so it gives us the life that we want to live. For me, that's freedom, that's flexibility, that's like travel, that's impact, right? This is the things that I love. And for for other people, you know, it's it's the sense of security, it's having this great team. There's like lots of different ways that you can build a business. And there's no right answer, there's no wrong answer. It's about what's right for you. I'm gonna share my perspective for my former self on all this stuff. And if it aligns with you, great. I'd love if you smash that subscribe button. You you listen along every single morning. And if there's any topics that you want to cover, find me on Instagram, BrianTBears, or you can find me on on X or LinkedIn, or you might subscribe to my newsletter, whatever it is. Shoot me a message. I want to hear from you. I want to hear like what are the what are the challenges you're having, what are the struggles, what are the things that you would love to hear my take on it. And uh if it makes sense, I'll be do doing an episode on it, shouting you out, uh giving you credit because I think it's it's really awesome of what I'm trying to build here. So finally, what I've been up to, man, our Midas business, uh, we're up to 36 locations. We're doing 52, 55 million right now on like a run rate, something in that range, uh, or goals to get to 60 million this year. We're looking for new stores to develop, to acquire. It's really hard out there. I've acquired most of what is to be acquired in the markets that I operate in. And so uh we've got a great team rocking there, continue to grow. Eight-figure program. If you own a franchise or a small business and you want my help installing the playbooks that got me to where I'm at, uh, I could totally help you with that through my program called Eight Figure Franchisee. And finally, uh my my idea around investments has been changing a lot. Uh, and I'm I want to share everything that I'm doing there and how I'm investing my money. And I think some of the things might might surprise you. So uh that's all I got for today. I will see you tomorrow. And if you like this, shoot me a message, let me know. I got your support, and uh, I'll see you in the next one. Cheers.
